KILIMANJARO - MARANGU ROUTE

This is the route we most highly discourage. It is also commonly referred to as the "Tourist" or "CocaCola™" route.

We do not recommend this route because it allows the shortest amount of acclimatization time and therefore has the lowest success rate. Your chances of getting Acute Mountain Sickness are increased by taking this route.

This route requires you to rise on summit day around midnight and hike for approximately 8 to 9 hours (5 or 6 of them in the dark) to reach the summit, then descend 7,000 - 9,000 ft. to your final camp, all in the same day.

HOWEVER, if you have limited time or this is your preferred route we can and will accomodate you, and provide a much more proper and safer service than you will find in Moshi booking the "$1500 Special". This is something we strongly recommend against for reasons of your own safety. Please do not risk your health or money on a bargain climb of any sort. If you wish more information on the Marangu Route please contact us. We have included Marangu on our Pricing page at the link at the top of this page or the one below.
